Ratification of Proclamation No. 2024-09 Fourth Extension of Declaration of State of Local Emergency Due to Hurricane Helene and Second Extension of Declaration of State of Local Emergency Due to Hurricane Milton

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency in the State of Florida due to the severity of Hurricane Helene on September 23, 2024, with Executive Order No. 24-208.
Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency in the State of Florida due to the severity of Hurricane Milton on October 5, 2024, with Executive Order No. 24-214.
The Declaration of Local Emergency for Hurricane Helene, dated September 23, 2024, was enacted with Proclamation 2024-04, subsequently extended by Proclamation Nos. 2024-05, 2024-06 and 2024-08, is hereby extended for an additional seven days from the effective date of the extension, unless terminated or modified earlier or extended in accordance with law. All emergency powers that Proclamation No. 2024-04 authorized are retained and continued for the duration of this extension.
The Declaration of Local Emergency for Hurricane Milton, dated October 6, 2024, with Proclamation No. 2024-07, as it was subsequently extended by Proclamation No. 2024-08, is hereby extended for an additional seven days from the effective date of this extension, unless terminated or modified earlier or extended in accordance with law. All emergency powers that Proclamation No. 2024-07 authorized are hereby retained and continued for the duration of this extension.
A State of Local Emergency was extended for a period of seven (7) days for Hernando County, effective October 20, 2024, through October 26, 2024, with Proclamation No. 2024-09. Proclamation No. 2024-09 was signed by the Board Chairwoman in conjunction with the Executive Policy Group on October 18, 2024. Copy of Proclamation No. 2024-09 is attached.
