Amendment for Extension of Public Transportation Grant Agreement With State Department of Transportation for State Block Transit Funding

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Board approved the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) state block grant funding on May 25, 2021, via Resolution No. 2021-78.
FDOT grants have a life span of three (3) years from the year the funds become available. Amendment for Extension of Public Transportation Grant Agreement No. G1U23 will expire on June 30, 2024. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding caused delays in the spending of these funds. The Transit Administrator has asked FDOT for an extension of these funds to allow the grant to be fully expended.
FDOT has agreed to extend the funds through to December 31, 2024. These funds will be spent on the operations of the Hernando County Public Transit System

Funding for this grant have been programmed in the FY24 Budget in the Mass Transit Division, Department 34019, GMS 408.
