BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners was asked to vacate their space within the Hernando County Courthouse under the "Space Needs Project" in order to provide the Judiciary staff more room.  The County has been leasing the Tracers Building located at 15470 Flight Path Drive from Pamela Wilfong.  This building is located on Hernando County-owned property on Airport grounds (Key #946917).  It has suitable space, convenient access and parking.

 

The improvements are located on the parcel legally described as follows:

 

The Northern 388.51' of Lot 37, Hernando County Airport Industrial Park Unit 1, as recorded in Plat Book 17, Pages 80-83, of the Public Records of Hernando County, Florida.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding for the Tracers property acquisition and associated closing costs is available in 0011-01721-5606101 (General Fund, Space Needs, Land Acquisition).

 

LEGAL NOTE

Reviewed and approved for legal sufficiency by the County Attorney’s Office.  The Board is authorized to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached contract for sale and purchase of leasehold improvement between Pamela Wilfong and Hernando County for the amount of $2,514,156.04.  It is further recommended that the County Attorney’s Office be designated to sign all closing documents necessary to finalize the purchase.
