Annual Update to Transit Development Plan

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) includes a Transit Element which covers the planning horizon to 2040. In addition, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) prepares a Transit Development Plan (TDP) which covers a 10-year planning horizon. A major TDP update is required every five years, which was approved by the Board on August 13, 2019. The subsequent four (4) annual time periods require annual progress reports. The Annual Progress Report for 2022 is attached for the Board's review and approval. The update addresses the system relative to grant funding, planning, and capital procurement objectives. Upon the Board's approval, the TDP annual update will be scheduled for approval by the Hernando/Citrus MPO. The TDP annual update will then be submitted to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for review and concurrence.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None at this time.
LEGAL NOTE
The Board has the authority to approve this item under Chapter 125, F.S. The Transit Development Plan (TDP) annual update is consistent with the Transit Element of the adopted Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve the annual update to the Transit Development Plan (TDP) and authorize its transmittal to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
