BRIEF OVERVIEW
During the 2013 Florida Legislative session, the Legislature approved requiring at least 20% of State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) funding to be used for special needs households as defined in section 420.0004(13), Florida Statutes. Local governments could meet these requirements through currently approved strategies or by incorporation new strategies, prioritizing funding for persons with developmental disabilities as defined in Section 393.063(9).
To meet the State requirements, the Housing Authority has been working with The Arc Nature Coast, Inc., to construct, purchase and rehabilitate properties to meet the State's funding requirements. The Arc Nature Coast, Inc., has submitted a request for funding to rehabilitate two of their homes located at 4612 Crescent Road, Spring Hill, Florida and 10438 Baylor Drive, Spring Hill, Florida.
Renovations to the homes include providing safe and appropriate access to the homes in the front exterior, barrier free flooring surfaces throughout the interior, converting doorways and bathrooms to be accessible for ambulatory equipment. The total cost for renovations is estimated at $93,034.44. The breakdown being $18,034.44 for the property located at 4612 Crescent Road and $75,000.00 for the property located at 10438 Baylor Drive.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds are located in Account No. 1271-35051-5303424 in the amount of $93,034.44.
