BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Hernando County Utilities Department is requesting Single Source award to Deeb Construction and Development for installation of a new 8-inch water main interconnect for the Wellington Subdivision. This interconnect is identified in the 2021 Water Master Plan. Deeb Construction and Development has been contracted by the developer for the Verano subdivision, to be constructed between Wellington and County Line Road.
Single Source approval and award to Deeb Construction and Development will result in efficiency and cost savings for Hernando County due to Deeb Construction and Development being able to complete the interconnection at the time of construction of the subdivision.
Hernando County Utilities Department has received a quote in the amount of $71,503.91 from Deeb Construction and Development for this project.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to the Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding to award the Contract in the amount of $71,503.91 is available in Expense Account No. 07213-5626302 Connection Fees-Water, Improv-Water Line Upgrade.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve award of Single Source Contractor Deeb Construction and Development for Verano Subdivision to Wellington Subdivision 8-inch water main interconnect in the amount of $71,503.91 and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required.
