BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services contracted with Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc., to perform a comprehensive update of the County’s current fire assessment Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) and EMS Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) rates. Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc., will be presenting their findings and will request the Board to give direction for any rate adjustments.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
MSBU rate adjustments would be recognized in the Fiscal Year 2024 budgets.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board provide direction for new rate adjustments. If the Board directs staff to increase rates, a public hearing will be scheduled in June.
