body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Bus and Bus Facilities Program, through the Federal Transit Administration, provides funding for capital projects to replace, rehabilitate, purchase, or lease buses and related equipment, or to rehabilitate, purchase, construct, or lease bus-related facilities.

Eligible Project Types Include:
* Capital projects to replace, rehabilitate, purchase, or lease buses, vans, or related equipment;
* Rehabilitate, purchase, construct, or lease bus-related facilities regardless of propulsion type or emissions;
* Additionally, 0.5% of the Federal request may be used for workforce development training and an additional 0.5% may be used for training at the National Transit Institute (NTI).

The Transit Division (The Division) is proposing to utilize these funds to construct a new transit operations and maintenance facility. The specifics for the site, to include size, location and amenities will be determined upon the completion of the feasibility study, scheduled to be completed in May 2024.

The Division has received a cost estimate of $17.6 million for the construction of the facility. This includes all aspects of facility implementation, including land acquisition, architectural and design engineering fees, land surveys and analysis, environmental reports and construction management.

Florida Toll Revenue/Transportation Development Credits are expected to be used as 20% soft match issued by the Florida Department of Transportation, in the amount approximate to $3.52 million.
